Editorial standards

Editorial policy

Our goal is to make renovation-cost information useful, traceable, and honest about uncertainty.

Sourcing

We prefer primary and authoritative sources, including government datasets, permitting authorities, and established industry benchmarks. Important estimates should identify the model version, scope, and limitations.

Independence

Advertisers, affiliate partners, contractors, and product companies do not approve our estimates or editorial conclusions. Paid placement will be labeled and kept visually distinct from editorial content.

Affiliate links

Some future links may earn RenoCostData a commission if a reader makes a purchase. Affiliate eligibility does not determine whether a product or source is mentioned. Pages containing affiliate links will include a clear disclosure near those links.

Corrections

We correct material factual or calculation errors promptly. Minor wording and formatting changes may be made without a notice; significant methodology changes receive a new model version. Send correction requests to hello@renocostdata.com with the page URL and supporting source.

AI-assisted production

Automation may assist with research organization, calculations, drafting, or quality checks. Published claims remain subject to the same sourcing and editorial standards regardless of the tools used to produce them.
